To save your Haiku as a GIF, follow these steps:
- Once you are done animating, you need to Publish your project by clicking the [Publish] button at the top-right corner.
2. Wait until Haiku finishes preparing your GIF (you'll see a progress bar on the GIF button, under "Other").
3. Click on the [GIF] button to open the GIF modal, where you'll be able to preview your animation.
4. If you click on the link at the bottom of the GIF modal, or if you copy and paste it into a browser, you will be able to select where to save it, and then the download will begin.
We don’t support transparent backgrounds for GIFs at the moment. One thing you might try is creating your GIF with the same background color you plan to place it on.
You can drag and drop a GIF into Haiku's library, and then instantiate it (drag it from the library to the stage). It will play normally and you'll be able to publish your project as always. This feature might come in handy if you are trying to reproduce a certain type of animation.
With a Haiku Pro account you can export GIFs directly to your computer in medium and high quality, from the top menu bar (Project > export).
Tip: With Haiku Pro, you can even do this while you are offline!
