Yes, in order for Haiku to work correctly, you need to have it installed in the Applications folder.

Otherwise, it will not have all the necessary permissions to complete certain actions. For example, if you have Haiku running from Downloads, Haiku may not have the permissions necessary to trigger Sketch's SVG exporter.  


You also need to have your design tool (Sketch / Figma / Illustrator) in the Applications folder, for everything to work smoothly.
